Mentor Appreciation Dinner

A Night of Celebration and Reflection

On May 8th, we hosted our 3rd annual Mentor Appreciation Dinner. We reflected on a year of growth and relational equity’s impact on our youth and schools. We are so grateful for the partnership with Stanislaus County, Modesto City Schools, Gallo, and Modesto Police Department – but mostly, our individual mentors. This year, we honored Jennifer Viss as our Mentor of the Year recipient for her excellence in mentoring. Jennifer has mentored us since 2015 and has mentored 3 students while in our program. She is a wonderful example of how mentoring impacts the life of youth and the mentor. Thank you, mentors! Children need our mentors now more than ever. If you or someone you know would like more information about our school-based mentoring program, please visit our page at svcfs.org/mentoring. Having a mentor significantly enhances a student’s potential for success by providing committed, supportive, and positive role models who believe in them.
